wah... it had been a terrible 2 days for me...
on wednesday, i went to the polyclinic to see the doctor regarding my rashes... i was down with rashes since saturday but decided to see the doctor only on wednesday... waited for 1 1/2 hours to see the doctor.. then need to take blood and urine test... wah.. i didn't take
blood test in my whole life and i was quite scared... the doctor said it is not pain... its like ear-piercing...
then it started... not really very pain.. so i went back to the doctor and wait for the results..
i waited for like half an hour.. so at about 1.15pm, the results are out and the doctor analysed the results for me.. i am short of platelets ... the rest are quite okay.. no major problem... then the doctor wanted to have a more accurate and precise result, so he referred me to NUH... the doctor was very caring... told me nothing's really wrong with me.. hmm.. i am considered quite lucky to see this doctor... i forgotten why i go back to see him at around 2pm.. i think its to analyse the result and confirm the referal to NUH...
so to save time, i took a cab to NUH and it costs $7.80...then i met up with mummy at the A&E.. the nurse (or doctor) brought me to a room and took the blood pressure.. ask me some questions... then told me i need to be admitted.. so i need to have a
drip... it was
very painful.. super pain... the nurse helped me poke the needle into the vein and then put something inside...woah... super pain.. it is terrible to be admitted. So don't be sick. 2 packets of the drip thing then blood test again... then at around 5.40pm, i was sent to the hospital bed... so, it took a long while before u can be admitted.. terrible 3hours...
i changed into the patients' clothing and i look like an old woman... the ward i am staying is for the old people, but because there are not enough beds i was warded there... the clothing was too big for me...
hated wearing the clothing..
then the nurse came to tell me about the rules of staying in the ward... blah blah blah.. doctor came to see my rashes...
then dinner was served... u have seen in drama shows that hospital food are not edible.. hmm, they are edible( i ate like 6 meals and i am still here... ) but
hospital food does not taste good at all..
i want to eat shark's fin!!! need to treat my stomach better after 6 terrible meals.. :S
blood test again... they take my blood now and then, and they don't tell me why they take it.. it's my blood okay? when i see those drama shows, i always hated the doctors who don't tell their patients what's happening... they talked among themselves and just come up with a conclusion.. 'OKAY, let's do this'.and the patient just watched this episode of doctors discussing the problem..
well, then at around 9.30pm, i slept.. can't really sleep well.. perhaps, different environment, different bed... then at 12midnight, 3 doctors came again... they see my condition then ask me some questions again... suspect its dunno what t------- or HSP( rashes appear when u have a cough.. something like that i think) ...
then at 3am, the nurse came to take my blood pressure and temperature.. taking the blood pressure is really quite pain... it compressed the skin... then sometimes, my fingers can't move... only after that, then it was fine..
i also hated taking blood pressure..
i can't get a good night sleep the whole night...
the next day(thursday)..
get up at 8am to have breakfast, medicine and then have a bath... as usual, the food is terrible. my appetite seems not that good...the nurse took out the drip for me.. and
blood was flowing profusely.. scary... and after a while it stopped... luckily..
then at 9 plus, one nurse came and took
4 testtubes of blood!!! 4 ! really scary! somemore my vein didn't really helped me and she took only 1 testtube of blood on the right arm.. then she take from the left one which was very co-operative... so 2 holes were formed... :S
blah blah blah, doctors came again... and they decided to do a
skin biopsy(dunno how to spell la) on the rashes to confirm the condition... so at 12.30pm, had lunch then rest till 2.45pm when the doctors came..
they inject anasthetic into the ankle where the skin biopsy is being done... PAIN again.. but after a while, the anasthetic acts and i don't feel any pain.. the procedure took about 20 minutes... then i just lie on the bed... stiches were made too.. eeee...
xinglu visited me as he was visiting his grandmother in the hospital as well... at least there was someone to chat with me.. he came for around 20mins and then left..
then at around 4.15pm, the doctor came and checked if i felt any pain in the ankle because the effect of the anasthetic is almost gone... hmm... lucky that i didn't felt any pain.. no need to take painkillers and be in a terrible state as well..
then till the next morning, i was left alone except for those blood pressure test and temperature taking... no more blood tests... i was quite surprised too.. but happy of course.. no more holes in my arm... yeah..
friday...
slept better than the previous night... but still felt very tired... so as usual, i woke up at 8am then went to brush teeth and bath before having breakfast...
the doctor came to see me at 8 and told me that i could be discharged!!! YEAH! finally.. the day i had been waiting for.. NO more hospital food, NO more lying on bed for hours, NO more taking of blood pressure and temperature... nice...
stomach felt quite pain suddenly, i think its because of the breakfast i took.. thinking of it now, really sends a chill down my spine..
so had lunch at 12.30pm, then had medicine then changed to home clothes, getting ready to leave this scary place.. but the nurse say need to wait for the appointment next friday.. so my mum and i waited for like 45mins and decided not to wait any longer.. so the nurse will inform us the next appointment... i think we made a good decision.. waste time waiting there blindly...
took a cab home and it costs $6.80... went to sleep straight away...
and here i am blogging about my terrible experience at the hospital...
i really hope that the rashes don't get worse but only gets better each day... if i go out wearing shorts, people will definitely stay away from me... haiz...
i really don't wish to have this condition again.. but the doctor says new crops of it may appear again... but it will go away after 2 weeks or so.. hopefully..
because of this, i can't go to the class outing.. i can't help in the start-up thing.. i waste time in the hospital..
but i am glad that all those blood tests and urine tests are quite normal.. at least i know that i am in good health.. as far as i know..
i think i can't go anywhere with my rashes... but i really want to go out and breathe in fresh air, see singapore once again..
MAHJONG too... BRIDGE... can someone play with me... :S
its TERRIBLE staying in hospital... with all those jabs and tests...
SO take care of your health and don't ever land in hospital!!!
